Where Can I Donate Broken Printers in 2026?

Many of us struggle with what to do with broken printers that can’t be fixed. Throwing them away feels wasteful, and recycling options can be unclear. It’s not easy to find a place that accepts non-working printers, but I know there are organizations out there that repurpose tech in any condition.

I’m in Seattle and looking for recommendations on local charities or tech recycling events that take these donations. I’ve heard that schools or community centers might be interested in the parts, but I’m not quite sure how to go about it. Has anyone here successfully donated broken printers? Are there specific places that take them?

What’s your experience been like with donating tech, especially items that aren’t in great shape? I’d love to hear your tips or stories!

I think some Goodwill locations take broken electronics, but you might want to call ahead to check. Also, check out local tech recycling events—sometimes they have drop-off days for stuff like printers. I recently just took a bunch of old gear to one and they were super cool about it!
