Anyone Modding the New Steam Deck?

Hey everyone! With the latest updates to the Steam Deck, I’m eager to explore some modding possibilities. There’s so much you can do with the new hardware, but I’m not sure where to begin. I’ve come across various threads discussing performance improvements and custom software setups, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually tried modding it.

I’m particularly curious about how the new specs compare to older devices, like the original Game Boy Advance I’ve been working on recently. Are there any specific mods or tweaks that have significantly enhanced your experience with the Steam Deck? What challenges did you face along the way, and did you find the effort worthwhile?

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts! What mods do you think make the biggest impact?

If you’re looking for a game changer, consider swapping the stock SSD for a faster NVMe one. I did it, and loading times improved a ton. Just make sure to back up your stuff first, though, since it can be a bit tricky!

I just did a custom fan curve and it made a huge difference in keeping the temps down during intense gaming sessions. Also swapped out the internal SSD for a faster one, loading times are way better now. The challenges mostly came from figuring out the right software to use, but totally worth it!
