Anyone have tips for reviewing damaged gadgets?

Reviewing a damaged gadget can be quite a challenge. Knowing where to begin and how to accurately document your findings is often overwhelming, especially if you enjoy dissecting devices. It raises questions about what aspects to prioritize—should the review center on functionality, appearance, or the repair process itself?

With the rise of the DIY repair community, sharing insights on review formats and styles can be beneficial for everyone involved. Have you tried any specific methods that you found effective?

What do you consider essential when evaluating and sharing your experiences with an injured gadget? I would love to hear your insights and any tips you might have!

When I reviewed my broken tablet, I focused on what still worked and what was totally useless. Also, taking pictures of the damage helped illustrate my points better. It’s kind of like a before-and-after, but just the ‘before’ part is broken!

I usually start by taking a ton of pictures from different angles to show the damage clearly. Then, I focus on the functionality because people want to know if it’s still usable. If there’s an obvious repair option, mentioning that helps too, but I wouldn’t go too deep unless I actually tried fixing it myself.
